Krissi's Tag

Krissi is in my ward. She made this tag. I hate the be the poor sport but I don't "Tags" because i have to think stuff up about myself, however, this one seems pretty easy to I'll give it a shot...

My 12 top events, moments, or happenings of 2008:

1. Last January, my parents bought a new car, Which meant the Mazda was officialy mine to drive.

2. In February, Taggart was born. He is my 2nd nephew, and the 5th Abel Grandchild.

3. I completed my first year of High School. This one may seem lame, but at least it can be considered an accomplishment.

4. In June my transmission went out. This may not be an exciting event, but my car had been driving weird for a couple of months. When it finally just decided it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear and Mom and Dad took it to be fixed I was really excited. nearly $3000 dollars and a week under her hood got Carigan purring again.

5. I went to Oregon with Nikki and Adam. While there we visited our cousin Cindy, and drove to Seaside. see POST

6. For the second year, the family packed up and spent a week in Park City. That's one of my favorite parts of the year now, and I really enjoy the time we spend. This year, I got on the same elevator as an older couple at our hotel. They asked me what we did in Park City, and my response was "Nothing, It's the best." When else can you spend an entire week doing absolutely nothing!?

7. I shot a few weddings with my sister-in-law Amanda, to whom I blame my new-found love for photography. I love to work with Amanda, and as with all of my in-laws, I think my siblings did great jobs finding spouses. Is "Spouses" a word?

8. To my resistance, I took a 40-hour road trip to Nauvoo. I didn't want to go at first, and No one was going to make me, but now, I am so glad I went. see POST

9. I spent a week in Disneyland with My parents, Chris, Amanda, and the girls. Who doesn't love Disneyland? see POST

10. Gas Prices finally fell. Such a relief, but I do worry that we may be paying for current prices months from now.....

11. My Braces came off! see POST

12. I got my first SLR camera for Christmas, and I couldn't be happier! see POST

There, all done. I guess the rule says that if you read this, you are Tagged, but if you don't respond I won't hunt you down. [or will I?]

Christmas!

White Christmas, anyone?

Christmas has passed again, and as always, was a blast at Chatteau De Abel. This year (as anyone reading this would know) I've become interested in photography, probably because my sister-in-law Amanda is an amazing photographer and seeing what she does has made me want to be able to do so, too. Chris and Amanda helped my parents pick out an SLR Camera that they surprised me with on Christmas Morning. I was so excited when I unwrapped a gift to find the Nikon logo staring me in the face! Here are some pictures I shot on my new camera yesturday:

I helped Dad pick out a lamp for Mom. A few months ago she mentioned wanting an "elegant" floor lamp (or something) to go in a certain corner in our front room. Here is the new lamp in all of it's glory:
Savana has beautiful eyes  :-)

Sorry, Chris.... I had to.

Merry Christmas to all.

Christmas Break

I am officialy out of school for 16 days. To my brother, Chris, to my brother-in-laws Jon and Adam, and to random internet patrons of the working class, I say "Neeener, Neeener, Neeener!"

These two pictures are a couple I took while shooting for Melissa and Jon on 25th:

December

Hooray for Christmas. I'm done shopping, and I decided to go with gifts that have more value than just their worldly worth. I'm more excited to give my gifts this year than ever before, and I did it for much less money than I planned.... [insert Napolean "yesssssssss" here.] Oh yeah, I watched that for the first time in about 4 years last weekend.

Book: Gathering Blue

I finished reading "Gathering Blue" by Louis Lowry. Gathering blue is a companion to "The Giver" and is also written about a perfect society where anyone with a defect is thrown out. Kira is born with a twisted leg that makes it difficult for her to walk, but her mother fought to keep her in the society and won. The book starts years later after her mother dies, and Kira must again fight to stay a member of the society. This was a great book... read it.
